Manual Changes to Configuration Files
TOS and TufinOS (which is a hardened version of Linux) may modify certain configuration files during a TufinOS or TOS upgrade, when deemed necessary for security or stability. TOS may also modify certain configuration files during an upgrade on a non-TufinOS server, when deemed necessary for security or stability. To ensure the proper functioning and stability of TOS and/or TufinOS, we recommend that you do not manually customize standard configuration files, for example /etc/ssh/sshd_config
. Wherever possible use the tools provided by Tufin to make customizations and changes, unless directed otherwise by the product documentation.
Relevant to
- TufinOS 3.x - all versions
- CentOS 7.x or RHEL 7.x - all versions
- TOS - all versions
Workaround
If you made any customizations to configuration files, we recommend that you back up those files offline prior to upgrading either TufinOS or TOS. Some files that may have been customized include (but are not limited to) /etc/sysctl.conf
and /etc/ssh/sshd_config
.
