Example: Opening a Request by Mail

To configure SecureChange so that users can open a request to the "Need Access" workflow by email:

  1. Create an email account on your mail server where the requests will be sent, for example:

    Username: [email protected]

    Password: password

  2. In SecureChange, create the inbound mailbox:
    1. Go to Settings > SecureChange API.
    2. At the bottom of the page, click Add mail.

      Enter the details for the mailbox:

      • Name: Enter Requests for Need Access
      • Select workflow: Select Need Access
      • Username: Enter the username of the email account on your mail server, for example: [email protected]
      • Password: Enter the password of the email account on your mail server, for example: password
    3. Click Test.

      If the test fails, make sure that the details of your mail server are correct in Settings > Mail, and that the username and password of the email account are correct.

    4. Click Save.

To test the mailbox, send an email to the email account ([email protected]) and enter Test as the subject. Within a few minutes, a request with the subject Test is opened in SecureChange and the date the email was sent is the Date Opened for the request.
