Decommissioning Applications
Managing firewall rules in the context of an application also gives you a simple solution for removing all access that is used by an application - open an Access Decommission ticket in SecureChange. SecureApp has a list of all of the connections that an application uses. Therefore, you can use SecureApp to decommission an application and request to remove all access associated with the application from the firewall policies. Starting this process in SecureChange, you can easily clean up firewall policies from unused access to prevent unnecessary security or performance risks.
When you decommission an application:
- The connections in the application are deleted.
- The servers in the application are deleted.
- The application cannot be edited.
- The history information is available.
- All access changes are entered into the next ticket that you create.
Decommission an application
- Go to: SecureApp > Applications
- Select the application from the list.
- Click and select: Decommission
The application and it's dependencies are displayed.
- Click Decommission, and then click OK.
A SecureChange ticket opens with access requests to remove all access that was requested for the application. If no access was opened for the application, no tickets will be opened.
