Vendor Requirements for Device Names

The following vendors have specific limitations in the device name. If a name has been assigned in SecureApp, Designer will modify the name to meet the following requirements:

Juniper - SRX

• Rule name cannot contain the following characters:
  +*(){}[]?!#<>=:;'\/"`@$%^|&~.,
• Object name cannot contain the following characters:
  +*(){}[]?!#<>=:;'\`@$%^|&~
• Name limitation is 63 characters
• Rule name must be unique in the device. If there is an already existing rule with the requested name, Designer will suggest a different name.

Juniper - Netscreen

• Cannot contain the character " in the name.
• Rule name limitation is 31 characters
• Object name limitation is 63 characters
• Rule name does not need to be unique

Cisco

• Cisco rules do not have names so the name from SecureApp is never used
