Tracking Implementation Progress

Using the Rule Lifecycle Management App (RLM), Rule Owners make a certification decision for each rule for which they are responsible.

The rule then appears in the Pending menu () where Rule Owners can track the implementation progress.

Every certification decision for which you are an owner appears in this menu. If there are multiple owners for a rule, when all owners make the same certification decision, RLM opens a ticket in SecureChange according to the ticket interval settings configured by the App Administrator. Implementation can be automatic or manual, depending on the RLM configuration.

Each entry in the Pending menu displays a Rule Status so you can check the implementation progress of the rule.

Status

Definition

Certify Rule recertification ticket is open, the ticket is still in-process, and new expiration date has not been set.
Certified Rule certification status is CERTIFIED and new certification expiration date is set.
Decertify

Request has been marked in RLM for decertification; RLM opens a ticket in SecureChange for this request and rule metadata has not been updated yet.

Decertified Rule certification status is DECERTIFY; certification date is updated.
Device Inactive Device is either disabled, stopped, or deleted after sync.
Disable

Rule decommission ticket was opened with a status set to DISABLE, and the ticket is in-process.

In SecureChange, the administrator updated the metadata and closed the ticket.

Disabled Rule in the SecureTrack revision is disabled.

Error

Indicates that something went wrong with the ticket. Either RLM cannot open a ticket, or the ticket is not in-process and the rules have not been updated.

Modify

If a rule has a status of Partial and the applicable device supports Rule Modification workflows, any owner for this rule can select the rule and select Modify from the Actions list. RLM opens a Rule Modification ticket in SecureChange for this request and the status changes to Modify.

Modified

Rule modification ticket is closed, and the rule has changed.

Partial

A rule has multiple owners who disagree in the certification decision; one owner tagged rule for certification and another user in the owner group tagged it for decertification.

The members of the Default Owner Group receive an e-mail notification that requires action. For example, one of the users in this group can remove one of the owners to resolve the conflict.

Processing

A subset of the owners has already certified or decertified the rule. Rule is waiting for another owner to approve the action.

Waiting

None of the owners have certified or decertified the rule. Only the App Administrator can see this status.
