Assigning Group Permissions
This topic is intended for SecureChange handlers who are responsible for processing change requests. |
Group permissions can be given to any local or LDAP user group in SecureChange. The group should include all the users who need to handle tickets together. You can also add users to this group later.
Assigning group permissions
-
Go to Settings > Users and select the group to which you want to give permissions.
-
Go to the Permissions tab and select:
- Members of this group can view other members requests – Lets group members to view, duplicate and comment on each other's requests.
This permission can be assigned to groups whose Role Permissions include View My Requests tab and create requests.Group members cannot cancel each other's requests.
- Members of this group can handle other members tasks (Only for tasks assigned to this group) – When a task is assigned to this group, and a specific group member is the task handler, other members can take over the task as needed. This permission can be assigned to groups whose Role Permissions include View Tasks tab and handle tickets.
If you want group members to receive automatic notifications when tasks are assigned to the group, make sure that the group email settings are defined and that the mail notifications are defined correctly.
- Members of this group can view other members requests – Lets group members to view, duplicate and comment on each other's requests.
- Assign tasks to this group – the same task assignment procedure applies to both individual users and user groups.
The group members now have permissions to handle tasks together and access each other's requests.
