Creating Workflows

Overview

The Rule Lifecycle Management App (RLM) uses SecureChange tickets behind the scenes to implement certification tasks after Rule Owners add their decisions in RLM. There are three types of tickets that RLM can create. The workflows for these ticket types must be configured in SecureChange before any certification tasks occur.

This topic describes the specific structure that RLM requires for each of these workflows. We recommend that you create workflows that will be used exclusively by RLM. To learn more about workflows in general, see Creating a Custom Workflow.

Rule Certification Workflow

The Rule Recertification workflow certifies or decertifies rules based on Rule Owners' decisions. You must build this workflow from scratch.

This workflow is mandatory in RLM.

For more information, see Creating a Rule Recertification Workflow.

Rule Decommission Workflow

The Rule Decommission workflow disables rules that have been decertified. The workflow must verify that the rule has changed before the ticket is closed. This workflow is optional in RLM.

For more information, see Creating a Rule Decommission Workflow.

Rule Modification Workflow

This SecureChange workflow is not supported for all firewall devices.

Rule modification tickets are used to remove a specific asset or object from a rule. The App Administrator must review the rule and the related certification decisions to format the modification ticket accurately .

For more information, see Creating a Rule Modification Workflow.
